Star Clippers To Add Tahiti Cruises in 2007

MONACO—For the first time ever, Star Clippers will journey to FrenchPolynesia, repositioning Star Flyer to Papeete, Tahiti year-round beginningDecember 16th 2007. The 170-passenger clipper ship will sail seven-nightcruises, as well as a selection of 10 and 11-night itineraries that include theSociety Islands and Tuamotu Atolls.

Addition of the islands of French Polynesia allows Star Clippers tocontinue offering guests the mega-yacht experience while re-creating thegolden age of the tall sailing ships. Star Flyer can visit ports untouched bylarger cruise ships and venture into the lush coves and harbors that havemade the area famous.“We made the decision to move Star Flyer to Tahiti after we receivedtremendous support and cooperation from the French Polynesiangovernment,” said Anjie McFarlane, senior vice president of sales andmarketing for Star Clippers. “At Star Clippers we are always looking to offerour guests something new, and Tahiti embodies the perfect combination ofexotic scenery and exciting itineraries that our passengers desire.”The repositioning of Star Flyer also will affect the schedule of StarClipper, sister ship to Star Flyer. While itinerary changes have not beenfinalized, it is intended that come winter 2007, Star Clipper will assume theFar East itineraries sailing out of Phuket, Thailand and Singapore. In spring2008, Star Clipper potentially will sail round-trip Athens cruises, picking upStar Flyer’s Greece and Turkey itineraries.The foundation of Royal Clipper’s itinerary remains unchanged. The227-passenger flagship will continue to sail round-trip Barbados cruises inthe Caribbean during the fall and winter months, and Mediterranean cruisesin the spring and summer.At this time, the full Tahiti cruise schedule, air, hotel and excursiondetails are being finalized, and information is expected to be released as itbecomes available.Star Clippers combines the pampered luxury of mega-yacht cruisingwith the exhilarating thrill of sailing aboard an authentic clipper ship. Guestsrediscover what sailing was like during the glorious age of the tall ships whilevisiting intimate ports of call untouched by larger cruise ships.The four and five-masted clipper ships feature a relaxed yet elegantatmosphere.
