The note was sent to me by Lyndsey Miller, who sailed with her parents on the
Grandeur of the Seas on June 1 of this year. Her parents sent a review (posted on the site as well), but I thought it was interesting to see the ship from a “younger” pair of eyes! Click on ‘Read More” to see her comments.
My parents and I cruised on the Grandeur of the Seas on June 1- 10th, 2007. I am 15 years old and my name is Lyndsey. We cruised up to New England from Baltimore. It was a 9 day cruise. They had a a beautiful pool in a area called the Solarium. It is for older kids and I really loved it. It was not so loud as other pools. Around the Solarium they had a snack bar everyday. They had pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers , french fries. The pizza changed everyday. Next to another pool they had ice cream everyday free. I really liked that. They had vanilla, and chocolate.
What I did not like was that lunch was the same everyday except the one special. It would have been nice if they could have had more that one special for lunch. We ate in the dining room for all of our meals. One thing that I liked was they set up a pasta bar and you could have a pasta dish prepared with things you picked, such as garlic, basil, shrimp, mushrooms and different sauces.
Another thing I didn’t like is that the ice cream shop on board you had to pay for it, if you wanted a scoop.
I wish the coke cards were not so expensive they were around 40 something for kids and more for adults. So we just had iced tea with our meals.
One thing that was fun, was our steward Nigel,he made a different animals from towels every night for me and I looked forward it. I also like the different shows in the theater. especially the costumes. One of the shows was the Beatle revue and it was a really great show. They involved the audience and got every one singing.
One morning my Mom and I ordered room service, they forgot to bring it so the next evening in our room was a dozen chocolate covered strawberries.,so that was really nice.! I would have liked to tried the rock climbing wall but the weather was to rainy.
Happy Cruising!
Lyndsey Miller
Thanks for the note Lindsey. I’m hoping more of the younger folks will chime in on their cruise experiences as a result!
