10 Great Reasons To Take a Cruise
By Gregg Eppleman • Feb 24th, 2008 • Category: cruiseI’m often asked why should I take a cruise? What is so special out there that would make me want to not go to a resort hotel, or be able to experience the atmosphere of a world-class restaurant in one of our bigger cities. The family has always packed up, jumped in the car or plane, and headed off to new destinations, where we can unpack everyday, see a new place and stop in a myriad of fast food restaurants or hotel dining rooms. Why is cruising different, and why is it for me? Here are the top ten reasons I give folks.
1. VALUE is the number one reason. Where else can one price buy your cabin, dining, entertainment and places to visit?
2. ROMANCE has been a big reason, brought to light by the Love Boat.
You will have access to secluded beaches, romantic dining on a balcony overlooking the ocean or spa massages for two or a host of other romantic endeavors available.
3. CUISINE is at the top of many cruisers lists. There are as many as eight meals a day and 24 hour room service included that will scintillate your taste buds with a gourmet fare that showcases exotic ingredients, old standbys like pizza and ice cream or spa cuisine for a healthy alternative. Ambience is a key variable as you decide on formal dining room, small cafe, or buffet style dining to suit your needs that day.
4. VARIETY is the key to cruising, which offers over 150 distinctive ships, 1800 ports-of-call and an inexaustible supply of places to see and things to do. Someone out there is the perfect cruise for you, made even more unique by a pre- or post-land addition.
5. ACTIVITIES will fill your days with sightseeing in exotic cities, sports activities at new venues, cultural lectures on wine, food and history, educational tours led by naturalists and historians, or you can just chill by the pool and relax. At night, enjoy dancing fast, slow or learning, musical revues, gambling in a casino or a quiet evening star gazing as you walk around the decks of the ship.
6. SIMPLICITY means relaxation and the ease of having a professional plan your trip. Don’t come back from your vacation needing a vacation. Planning a cruise is simple; your CLIA-affiliated travel agency can handle all of the details. Once you’re on board, nearly all expenses are pre-paid and that means a virtually hassle-free vacation.
7. FAMILY cruising is a ball, and a great way to get everyone together in one place after a year of running in different directions involved in today’s many lifestyles. Families love cruising because of the children’s programs, special kid’s dining and entertainment areas, and tours of your ship that usually blow the young ones away. They can be with you when they (or you) want, but also affords some time alone for all parties.
8. PAMPERING means waiting on you hand to foot no matter how much you pay for your cruise. The various cruise lines will pamper you with first-class service around the clock, meaning bringing your favorite drinks, warm towels, water in the spa, and whatever!
9. SATISFACTION is the key for cruisers as it is always been the top vacation in terms of customer satisfaction, and return cruisers. You can read anywhere that cruises have a higher percentage of satisfied customers than any other vacation experience.
10. YOU are the final reason to take a cruise. You deserve the vacation of a lifetime, where you will be able to see the globe, completely relax, bring out your wild side, dance the night away with friends or lovers, dine on fabulous cuisine, experience a new educational revelation, make new, lifetime friends, bond with your family, or just experience a quiet moment with your spouse. Whatever you seek is yours, when you choose to cruise.
