Protected by the Chugach Mountains in addition to a relatively warm coastal current, Anchorage experiences temperatures mid year that are not all that different than San Francisco. The average temperature during the summer months is 65 degrees, and coupled with the fact that there is almost 20 hours of daylight at the height of summer, Anchorage is always a busy vacation destination for cruisers.
