Holland America Line is trying some new initiatives in order to make it easier for folks to save costs on cruising. As a result, they have teamed with Barclaycard US, the credit card business of Barclays PLC in the United States, and announced the debut of the Holland America Line Rewards(TM) Visa(R) card. The card, Holland America Line’s first such offering, will allow cardmembers to earn free cruises, onboard credits, special onboard amenities and discounted airfare for card usage.
For every $1 spent on Holland America Line purchases, cardmembers earn two Holland America Points. For all other purchases, cardmembers will earn one Holland America Point. Cardmembers will earn 5,000 points upon first use and can accrue an additional 5,000 points for balance transfers completed within the first 30 days of account opening. Points can be redeemed for various Holland America Line cruise packages and onboard services and amenities including spa treatments, shore excursions, special occasion packages, cooking classes and cruise discounts or free cruises. Other benefits include Visa Signature and Platinum card benefits, no annual fee and a 0% introductory APR on balance transfers for six months.
