Discovery Cruise LineDiscovery Cruise Line is fed up with the economy, and believes cruisers are too. The Fort Lauderdale based cruise line, which offers transfers with cruise line amenities between South Florida and Grand Bahama Island every day of the week except Wednesdays, is offering greatly reduced fares for January and February, as well as eliminating the traditional, annoying extra charges that cruise lines and airlines add to base fares.

Hanns J. Hahn, General Manager of Discovery, said, “Everywhere you look, consumers are faced with financial and economic stress both personal and in their business lives. Everyone is fed up with stock market losses and worthless 401k’s, fed up with government slowness to correct the problem, fed up with huge corporate bailouts, fed up with rising prices and declining personal incomes, and fed up with the general level of financial stress that everyone feels.”

“We’re fed up too.” Mr. Hahn continued, saying, “Discovery has decided to lower its prices and that’s why we call them ‘Fed Up Fares.’ Consumers need a fresh approach and an honest approach in these difficult times. So, effective January 5 we are eliminating all service charges, all fuel surcharges, and all cruise line service fees. There are no extra cruise charges, only the Bahamas departure and harbour fees. Consumers are tired of responding to advertising offers and finding that it really will cost a lot more.”

Also, effective January 5 and running through February 28, 2009, the price of a Fun Day Cruise will be From as low as $29.99 per person, the price of a two day, one night Cruise N Stay Vacation will be From $49.99 per person, the price of a three day, two night Cruise N Stay Vacation will be From $74.99 per person, and the price of a four day, three night Cruise N Stay Vacation will be From $99.99 per person. In all cases, prices do not include the Bahamian departure and harbour fees of $20 per person or hotel taxes.

Discovery’s cruise amenities include a Las Vegas-style casino, live entertainment, games, a show, a disco, and even a Kid’s Club. Plus, you have plenty of room to stretch your legs on one of the spacious decks, take a dip in the pool or simply enjoy the many activities. The price includes two all- you-can-eat buffet meals, which feature new menu items such as an omelet station at breakfast and a carving station for dinner. Optional dining includes Grand Bahama Grill’s Champagne breakfast, Grand Bahama Grill’s new lunch menu and Discovery’s seven course dining also served in the Grand Bahama Grill.
